Question

Bulk Image background change

I'm working with multiple images that are all 1700x900px in size, and I need to add a transparent background to each one, making their overall size 1920x1080px. I want the original image to remain centered in the middle of the new background, so the new blank background should just expand the canvas around the existing image.

I’m looking to create an action in Photoshop that can apply this change to all my images at once. I am new in cereating photoshop actions, I have gone through most of the post, but I am catching nothing. Could someone please guide me through the steps to create this action? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Canvas Size will get you the new image dimensions. Make Layer (if you have only a Background layer), select pixels near the corner, and Clear. You can also create a selection and clear that if your image has white (or black depending on Canvas Size fill) pixels at its edge.

@Dolby34925329qaec – It’s not exactly clear what you wish to do. Can you please illustrate by attaching before/after example images? Actions are step-by-step, so if you can list how you would do this manually then the action is often similar.
