By feel, which version of ps cc do you think works best since?

Adobe has gone all the way from a few hundred megabytes in size to 5 gigabytes now.
It's too big. I think optimizing and streamlining basic operations may be more important.

Hardware simply can't keep up with software updates.
Have been looking for a better version to use.
Wish it was small and fast, too hard.

It is highly recommended that Ps ID AI, etc. have the option to choose whether certain components run or not, as we don't necessarily need all the features.

What do you guys think is a better version to use?

It's not as simple as that question implies.

Photoshop doesn't exist in a vacuum. The whole computing environment is orders of magnitude more complex now. There are so many more interactions between different subsystems. As complexity grows exponentially - so does the number of potential problems and conflicts. It's a miracle it works as reliably as it does.

In short, this is the Red Queen Effect. You have to run faster and faster just to remain in the same place.

No, it's not sustainable in the long run. We're drowning in mountains of perfectly functional electronics, thrown away just because it didn't "keep up". It's crazy, really.

There is no best, only better.
Is there a better version?

Am I lost, or is Adobe lost?

I had similar thoughts. Automated options? No thanks, but now I use them every day, and automated options are improving continuously. Simple answer: the latest version. There isn't a perpetual license anymore, so the best option is to invest in hardware and subscribe.
