Can no longer cut (cmd + x) in Photoshop after latest update.

Hi all,

Mac OSX user here - 2019 Intel model, running Sonoma 14.6.1

When selecting layers in Photoshop I often cut so I can paste onto a specific place in the layer stack. But after the last update I can no longer cut...at all. I can't use the keyboard shortcut and the dropdown menu is greyed out. I can only copy. I've never seen this before and it's messing up my workflow.

Anyone else seen similar? Is there a setting I need to change or do I have to wait for a bug fix?

What version of Photoshop are you using?

Can you post a screenshot of Photoshop including the image and Layers panel.

Certain types of Layers like smart object, frame layer, type layer, shape layer, solid color layer, gradient layer, or pattern fill layers do not support Cut.
