Can no longer open MOV files in latest Photoshop

Help lol  *laugh/cry*

A pop message comes out with: "Could not open [file name.mov] because the video file could not be opened."

Sounds like my niece who says she won't do something because she doesn't feel like it.

Is it a bug? Do I need to retrograde? If yes, how?

I don't care about the all new AI features I'll never use, I just want to open MOV files like I did just last friday.

It's pretty urgent, my team is waiting for their animation reviewing.

Thanks!

Hi Alek!

Thank you so much 🙂 I'm using version 25.12.1

I figured by opening the software trhough my taskbar, the functionning version appears.

Is there a way to know what features are being lost throughout the ongoing updates?

Cheers!

Hi @Dimani Mathie36919524czeg!

I'm so glad to hear it's working now! .MOV support should still be fine, but if you ever want to stay up-to-date on affected features, you can always check the Known Issues page: https://adobe.ly/4aTOoaQ

Thanks,
Alek

Hi @Dimani Mathie36919524czeg! 👋 Welcome to the community!

Sorry for the frustration! Which version of Photoshop are you using? Is this happening with every .MOV file?

If you’d like to try installing a previous version of Photoshop, you can do that in the Creative Cloud app. Just go to Apps, click the three dots in the Photoshop section, and then choose "Other Versions." You should see the option to install older versions there.

Thanks!
Alek
