I cannot access my .psdc files from my desktop app (Photoshop 2026). It says "Could not open “MIS Staff ID - Template.psdc”. The account you signed in with doesn't have access. Check with account owner or sign into another account." while I'm obviously the owner of this account. Please help.

Hi @MISmedan,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're experiencing trouble accessing your .psdc (cloud document) files from the Photoshop desktop app on your Mac. The error "The account you signed in with doesn't have access" is typically caused by one of two things:

  • An account/ profile mismatch, you may be signed in with a different Adobe ID/ profile than the one that owns the cloud documents.

  • The Creative Cloud sync service is not running properly on your Mac.

Here's what I'd recommend:

Step 1: Verify you're signed in with the correct Adobe account

  • Navigate to “Your files” and check whether your .psdc cloud documents appear there.

  • If they don't appear, you may be signed in with a different account than the one that created/owns those files. Try signing out and signing back in with "Continue with Google" on the sign-in page.

Step 2: For Photoshop 27.9.1 or later > Check Creative Cloud Libraries Synchronizer

  • Open Activity Monitor on your Mac (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor).

  • Search for Creative Cloud Libraries Synchronizer

  • If it's not running, go to System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Allow in the Background and make sure Adobe Creative Cloud is enabled.

  • Quit and reopen the Creative Cloud desktop app, then relaunch Photoshop.

If the synchronizer is running but the issue persists:

  • Force quit Creative Cloud Libraries Synchronizer and Photoshop via Activity Monitor.

  • Wait 10 seconds.

  • Relaunch Photoshop and confirm the synchronizer restarts (check Activity Monitor again).

Step 3: Sign out and sign back in to Creative Cloud

  • Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  • Click your profile icon > Sign Out.

  • Sign back in with the "Continue with Google" on the sign-in page

  • Reopen Photoshop and try accessing your .psdc files again.

If none of the above resolves the issue, please let us know:

  • Copy & paste your system info from the help menu > system info.

We're happy to help further!

Best,
Anshul Saini

@MISmedan
I had never tried to open my cloud files from Photoshop, but I just did.
File>Open, then clicked Open from Adobe Cloud Storage. I picked one of my psdc files, and vyola.

You have only one account? which you have successfully used to open cloud files?
