Question

Can't free transform layers without it looking terrible

I have to illustrate blood flow with arrows. So I have to duplicate the arrow each time and scale them.

The arrows have to be a certain type can't use vectors.

Tried all the preferences on image interpolation? Every time I rotate an arrow down it won't antialias.

Looks bad. Is there any way to resolve this?

A bit frustrated. Thank you?

Best regards

If you do not constrain the Free transform resize to the layers current aspect ratio the layer will distort. And if you not transforming layers that are Smart object layers or vector layer the transform is destructive.  Every time you transform that layer that layers quality will degrade.

It is very distructive, unuserble. I don't remember it being that bad with past versions. Only smart objects seem to work.

How old are you I'll be 79 in a few weeks my memory is going too. Interpretation is destructive smart object layer pixels are interpolated.  However, the object pixels are not changed.  So every time you transform a smart object layer you are interpolating the original object pixels it like doing a single interpolation of the layer.  You  are just editing the prior transform settings.  Every Smart object layer has a layer transform associated with it.
