Question

Can't install Nik Collection 5 [Windows 11]

I recently upgraded to Nik Collection 5 on my Windows 11 desktop pc but something went wrong with the install process and the error message shown in the first screenshot appeared.

The collection doesn't show in Photoshop.  Nik Collection 5 doesn't show in Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall Programs and it doesn't show up in my independent uninstaller either.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem, please?

Thanks

John Francis

Anything in the release notes?

I'll add Windows 11 to your subject line, that might attract the appropriate people to view the thread.

This question, and others like it — for the Topaz Labs apps if memory serves — often come up after updates, and an answer that often works is 'Are you using the latest install file?'.  It's as iff the install.exe file is looking for a specific file location that contains the Photoshop version.  I have taken to keeping plugins in a folder in My Documents, and putting a shortcut to it in:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins

The Mac location will be here somewhere

Photoshop preference file functions, names, locations (adobe.com)

Hi @john francis are you installing on the same directory that Photoshop is installed?

Otherwise, have you contacted Nik via their forums for assistance?

Thanks for your reply, Kevin.  Yes, I'm trying to install Nik on the Windows 11 C drive where all programs, including Photoshop are installed.  I have asked DXO for assistance and they sent me a helpful email, but none of their suggestions work.  I have asked for more help but haven't heard back yet.
