Hi Srishti,

Its still the same after resetting all preferences, this started after the latest photoshop update. Its the same on all files, they are saved locally. Please fix this as we pay monthly for this software and simple issues like this shouldn't happen.

Hi @gndesign44,

Thank you for confirming and for testing after resetting preferences. Let’s try one more quick check to help isolate the cause.

  • Please restart your Mac in Safe Mode (this temporarily disables third-party extensions and background services).

  • Once logged in, open Photoshop only, don’t launch any other apps.

  • Try the same workflow again: open File > Save As and attempt to paste copied text into the filename field.

If the issue persists even in Safe Mode, please:

  • Share a short screen recording showing the full workflow, from copying the text to attempting to paste it in the filename field.

  • Go to Help > System Info, click Copy, and paste the details here.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Hi @gndesign44

Thanks for sharing this. We tried replicating the issue at our end, but pasting text as a filename is working as expected. Could you share a few more details to help us narrow it down?

  • Does this happen with all files or only specific ones?

  • Where are you saving these files (local drive, external drive, network, cloud, desktop)?

  • If it’s happening with all files across different save locations, please try resetting preferences after creating a backup and check if that helps. Steps are shared here: Reset Preferences

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Srishti
