I used to be able to resize video layers, but now whenever I free transform the video layer, the box shows up but when I drag, it disappears. I'm using Photoshop CC on a mac.

I had the same issue. What solved it for me was converting the video layer to a Smart Object.

@kathrinb29538845 THANK YOU !!!!! converting the video layer into a smart object before transforming it worked vs trying to transform it and having it promp you to convert to smart object

Hi @Katfish_28

Welcome to the Community! We're here to help you with your trouble.

Which version of Photoshop are you using? What is the file format you're working with? Please check if you are using the steps correctly: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/editing-video-animation-layers-photoshop.html.

If you are, an still the issue persists, then you may try resetting Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps. Here's the article for the steps: https://adobe.ly/3ceal5t

Also, back up the existing Photoshop preferences if you have any custom brushes, action, and workspace: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Ranjisha

I'm having the exact same issue all of the sudden and it started recently. I am on a PC in this particular case (haven't tried it on my Mac), so this appears to be an issue affecting both platforms seeing as the original poster was a on Mac. I have this problem with the most recent version of Photoshop 24.7.0 and the most recent version of Photoshop Beta 25.0.0. The video file is an MP4.
