Question

Can you tie guides to a layer group?

Hi, is it possible to have your guides only show up in specific groups? Basically the idea is to mimic how you can have your guides correspond to specific layer groups in Illustrator.

I have all these groups that use different guides and I think it would be amazing to be able to just show the group and have the correct guides show up instead of moving them when I need to use the new group.

I have been wishing for this feature for years.

I am one of those users that relies on my guides for lots of layout and composition issues. Having specific guides for specific layer groups would be fantastic.

Also, I would love to be able to change guide colors on the fly with a command-click or right click option. Last, but not least, have the ability to designate some guides as snappable while others are not would be huge.

Indeed, and as artboards are a special type of layer group, one would think that this would be "simple" :]

Long and short: No. Unlike in AI guides in PS are not actual geometry, they are just an abstract intersection check of the coordinates. Changing this would require some major work and since likely not enough people would use it, it's probably never coming.
