Cannot add "auto-colour" and "auto-contrast" into PNG Batch Editing

I am trying to create a new “Action” so that I can batch edit some PNG photos.

I want to add “auto-contrast” and “auto-color” into the “Action” as part of the batch editing process.

However, when I try to add these selections in, I cannot save the “Action” (the square option to finish up is greyed out).

Is there a reason why these selections cannot be added into an “Action” to be used as part of batch editing? They seem to work with JPG files but not PNG files?

I am Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.2.0

My Operating System is Windows 11 64-bit

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

So in screenshot 1, I set up a new Action called "Test" and started adding a couple of instructions in. Everything looks fine.

Then I add Auto-Color in and suddenly the little red record button turns grey as well as the "stop" square button, which I need to finish up with.

Again: Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible

Auto Color records fine here (as »Levels«) and does not stop the recording.

Are these indexed 8-bit colour mode PNG files and not 24-bit "full" RGB?

They are just 8-Bit RGB images.
