Cannot find my SAVED image after power outage

Please help. I was working for hours, saving my progress every ten minutes or so, then my power went off and the file wasn't even in recent files and when I opened it manualy none of the progress was saved. Auto-recovery folder empty. Is there any possible way to get my work back? It's Photoshop 2024.

I know it doesn't help with this issue, but to prevent future problems with any program, not just Adobe programs, consider using an Uninterruptible Power Supply like these:

@katem43656392 Besides th recent files, where were you originally saving the files? Your 'Recnt files' is just a temporary dashboard, were you not saving the PS files into a folder or hard drive of your computer? If so, that would be the 'ideal' location to look for that file. Was there any version control? Filname_vers1.psd, Filname_vers2psd, Filname_vers3.psd, — this would be ideal especially if you paranoid of files.

If by chance you were also auo-saving to the cloud, check your files there as well: https://www.adobe.com/files/cloud-documents

I save it by re[eatedly hitting ctrl+s. There were no control versions because I work with large files and having dozens of versions would just take up all the space and I wasn't aware that this program got so bad it started deleting saved files now. I'm canceling my subscribtion asap and moving to CSP, this is ridiculous for 2026. I am not saving to the cloud, I don't need my work scraped for traininig AI.

Then you don't know where it's going, it depends on several other factors. The file is there, it has been saved, you just don't know where.

Always use "Save As", at least for the first save, so you can control exactly where you're saving. Set up a logical folder tree on disk.

The recent files listings in the home screen is just a convenience feature, to let you quickly pick up where you left off before lunch. It is not a live path to the actual file, just a passive pointer to a certain address on disk, which may or may not contain the expected content. It is not intended for archival file management.
