I have an issue installing Photoshop CS3 as follow:

I have removed all Photoshop CS3 Beta manually (Use control panel, deleted files and registries) as instructed in this web and get rid of all thing involved Adobe out of my computer.

When I clicked Setup.exe, a setup windows with progressive bar (See in http://www.thetaforce.com/image/cs3installer.jpg ) appeared shortly and then disappear!
Then nothing is happenned further. No error message. It just disappeared. I wait for an hour but nothing happened.

I tried to run Windows in clean mode (msconfig -> disable unneccessary services) and also disable Antivirus and Firewall etc. But this problem persists.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium (32Bit) and have Intel Centrino Duo 2.0GHz with 1.5GB of Ram (DDR2) and 100GB HDD. Graphic shared Intel 945GM Express Chipset.

ok guys i have spent like 48 hrs for the solution of this problem.
now i did the following things.i have windows xp sp2 home i dont know wht to do for windows vista or some other OS sry.

1)go to microsoft update site->check ur OS update history(AUTOMATIC UPDATES is what i mean)->now if all the updates have ben done by you already till date then its ok else download the remaining updates by simply searching them on google.when u DONE with updating follow this.Mostly u need to update .NET files.

2)Now download the CS3 script cleaner/registry cleaner or whatever u call it. run it follow the instructions of README.DONE...

3)now try installin if it still doesnt work then........

4)Uninstall any other 3rd party internet browser and update your internet explorer to the latest one and make it your default browser.

5)run the SETUP.EXE(which was irritating you and make u pull ur hair out) and after the short loading the actual setup will work!!

I followed the above steps and i am through with the setupa and the programs are running fine.

P.S.-if u had previous demo/beta version of CS3 please deactivate and then install the full/stable version.

This is not copied or self made.I have just compiled my experience and the help i have got from all of you reading this and writing this.thank you for the help.
    i hope this helps!! :)

    Hello Guys,
I've found the best solution to eliminate "disapearing" problem at all. You'll never believe me, I've just rollbacked to Windows XP SP2.

    ATTENTION!!!!!

dont mind all the techno babble going on in here! just follow these simple steps.........

    Step1: click Setup file,
Step2: when installer window opens, click and hold on the window at the top border (so it will not disappear) and wait until installation starts!!
    Step3: installed!!

    Simple as!!

if you already used the trial you can't load it again on that machine w/o a low level format. if you mean you had the real version PRIOR to installing the trial, i'm not sure you can do that either. why not just reload the real version.

if that's not an option have you considered elements or gimp? both are lightweight and do most of what photoshop does. (and gimp has the advantage of being free!)

    I really need help.

I am trying to install CS3 and it works just fine, until it starts to initialize, and then that window just disappears, a few seconds later a window comes up that says that I must finish the other installation of Adobe before i can continue, please install one adobe product at a time. something like that. There isn't another product being installed.

but anyhow, i have searched forums, and it says try to delete temps, do disk cleanup, blah blah.. ( just normal maintenance stuff) but it still wont install.

is there something i am missing, i am trying to download the trial cs3 extended on WinXP SP2

cs3 was on my computer a few months back but i deleted it because i didn't need it at the time. I have searched my entire computer for any adobe stuff, and i have deleted it all, and I've tried to reinstall it, but it doesn't work.

i know this is probably very confusing and I'm sorry, but would someone help me please?

    thanks SJ

    > The installer flashes and disappears. The only other Adobe product on the machine is Acrobat 7.

I had a similar experience installing the CS2 package on my stand-alone XP machine. The answer for me (and this makes no sense) was to use my notebook to connect to the internet, connect my PC to the notebook in a way that it too would be connected to the internet, then the install went through without a hitch.

Still happens on a virgin Vista Ultimate machine. The installer flashes and disappears. The only other Adobe product on the machine is Acrobat 7. Since the laptop is new it never even had cs2 on it.
