Question

Cannot open multiple RAW images from folder

Thanks for these tips. Sadly, the solutions offered didn't solve my problem. I'm having the exact same issue as the OP.

Opening via File>Open is the only way I've been able to open the two photos I need in RAW together. Otherwise one opens, and the other doesn't open until I close the first. They're in the same folder. They're both .ARW files. But one was taken at a much more recent date (Photos from the original photoshoot will open together in RAW, but the newer photo will not).

If you have any more solutions to offer, I'd love to hear them. I've reset RAW preferences, restarted the computer, and tried opening by dragging onto the icon as suggested. Nothing made a difference. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but that’s just a long-winded workaround. I’m hoping for a solution, or at least to understand why it’s acting this way. Is it just because I’m trying to open an older file simultaneously with a newer file?

Understood, it all comes down to personal workflow.

Another option would be Adobe Bridge, where multiple selected raw camera files can be opened into ACR using Control/Command + R

Hey @Michael28175988wqid

Can you share what version of Photoshop you're using, the type of files you're trying to open, and share any error message you're seeing? Thank you.

Camera Raw Version 18.1.1
No error message.
Working with .ARW files.
