Question

Canvas jumping when I try to edit text

I’m having a pretty big problem lately with Photoshop iOS trying to edit text on a canvas. When I try to select the text to edit it, the canvas jumps down, so I’m at the bottom of the canvas. I then  have to physically drag the canvas down to the middle of the page again to start editing the text. Unfortunately I cannot attach a video to display this.

    @NashvilleNewman

    I just tested and it’s not doing that for me.

    Here’s one thing to try: click the cog in the upper right to open App Settings. In the General tab > Advanced, choose Restore App Defaults. Let us know if this works.

    Hi Jane. Not working. I just tried. I’m selecting the text layer, and when I use my Apple Pencil to select the text, and then lift the Pencil from the tablet, that’s when the screen jumps. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    @NashvilleNewman

    I was testing by tapping with my finger, but have just put my pencil on to recharge. I’ll try again when I can.

    How are exactly are you selecting the text (so I can do the same)?

    For testing purposes, does this also happen when you use your finger?

    Also (for an FYI), when I tested I selected a pixel layer, then double-tapped the text on the canvas. The previous comment about selecting the layer first does not apply and is a non-issue.

    Which Layer is active in your Layers Panel?

    Is it the same layer that you’re attempting to edit?
