Canves & Document
As far as I know Canves & New Document are same. Why should Ps use different name?
They are not the same. A new document is creating a new document with a Canvas size of {X}. A Canvas size adjustment will change the editable area without impacting the work you are doing. Whereas the Image size adjustment will adjust the material you are working on to the new constraints.
