Changes Multiply does not come for me. How to fix it?

What Colin does is this:

Create a SO of the first butterfly
Duplicate the SO several times and scale, rotate and flip the duplicates
Edit the first SO (which is a PSB) and add a hue adjustment layer, then change the color
(optional: click the PSD to see no changes were made, then return to the PSB)
Save the PSB and close it to return to the PSD
See that all linked SOs update
