Clipboard Destroyed by Undo?
This is my first post on these forums - so hello!
I frequently perform the following sequence, and other sequences similar to this:
1. Smash layers (or some other destructive change)
2. Copy section of image into clipboard
3. Undo once - to fix whatever was done in step #1
4. Paste copied data into image
However, the newer Photoshop updates now appear to destroy the clipboard data on undo (so step #3 makes step #1 pointless). The only way I've found to prevent this from happening is to perform this sequence instead:
1. Smash layers (or some other destructive change)
2. Copy section of image
3. Paste copied data into image
4. Undo (paste)
5. Undo (destructive change)
6. Paste copied data into image (again)
Is there any way to turn this clipboard destruction behavior off? If not, this would be a great opportunity to add a new user preference! Being able to carry clipboard data through a history change is an important part of editing. The clipboard should never be part of the undo history, in my opinion.
Thanks for any help or advice!
