Clipping mask

 I'm working on a fundraiser to help save our flag football program and trying to create mockups using a bunny file. When I import the file and use 'create a clipping mask,' the colored sports design only applies to the outline instead of filling the full backer. How can I make sure the design fills the entire backer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! If there is a tutorial anyone can recommend? etc.
