Question

clone stamp unaligned click and drag not working

A year ago I used the clone stamp tool (unaligned, sampling current layer) for class to draw a cat using the cat head I had sampled. I was able to click and drag and it would essentially paint the same thing over and over (see image). I'm trying to do the same thing now, but when I click and drag it doesn't repeat the sampled area over and over. It only stamps once per click regardless if I drag or not.

I'm on the latest version of PS (v 25.11).

I'm using a MacBook Pro (M2 Max chip) operating on Ventura 13.5.1

I've already tried using the airbrush (didn't change anything) and I've also tried resetting the clone stamp tool presets. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Is there a reason you can't install 26.00?  You can opt to keep the previous version if that doesn't solve the problem.

I have auto updates on and it says PS is up to date (updated 11 days ago to 25.11). There's no option to update to 26.00. I didn't even know there was a 26.00.

26.00 (Photoshop 2025) was released in October. Seems like you exceed the requirements.

There's a chat feature on the bottom right of the system requirements page. It should connect you to Adobe Support.
