Cloud Documents dialog shows blank screen in Photoshop on macOS Monterey

I’m unable to open or save Photoshop cloud documents, the dialog box always appears blank.

 

Steps to reproduce

 

When opening a cloud document:

  • Open Photoshop
  • Go to File › Open (local file dialog appears)
  • Click "Open Cloud Documents", the dialog window opens but remains completely blank

 

When saving to a cloud document:

  • Open any local PSD file
  • Go to File › Save As (local file dialog appears)
  • Click "Save to Cloud Documents", the dialog window opens but remains blank

 

Troubleshooting tried

  • Reset Photoshop preferences
  • Signed out/in of Creative Cloud
  • Used Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
  • Reinstalled Photoshop
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud Desktop App, then reinstalled Photoshop again
  • Verified permissions for /Library/Application Support/Adobe/

Despite all that, the cloud dialog still won’t load.

 

System details

  • Photoshop: 26.11.0
  • Creative Cloud: 6.8.0.821
  • macOS: Monterey 12.7.6 (MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2015)

 

Notes

  • The /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/Runtime/ folder is missing after installation, only an extensions/ folder is present.
  • Creative Cloud desktop works normally (I can see and access my files there).
  • Local file open/save dialogs in Photoshop work fine, only the Cloud Document window is blank.

Photoshop 26 is not supported on Monterey. I recommend using PS 25 or getting a newer computer that can run a supported OS as neither Apple or Adobe no longer support Monterey.

Do you have an older Photoshop version installed where the Cloud Document window is not blank?

I'm reverted back to 2.9 and the cloud documents dialog works fine

At some point, this may no longer work since Adobe will be moving on from older versions. Apple already has dropped support for Monterey and Ventura. And a newer computer will be much faster- I replaced my 2015 15" Macbook Pro with an M3 Air that is easily twice as fast and much lighter, even with an added USB-C dock.

Thanks again for taking the time. I've followed the steps you mentioned but unfortunately it still doesn't solve the problem. I guess I'll just use older version that supports Monterey.

This makes a lot of sense. I guess I'll just revert back to the last Photoshop version that fully supports Monterey, then.

Try this:

 

  1. Close & Quit Photoshop app
  2. In Finder, go to ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/CCX Welcome
     To get to the above User Library, hold down the Option key & click on the 'GO' menu from the top & select Library. 
  3. Clear the contents & remove them from the trash.
  4. Go to Activity Monitor (use Spotlight search)
  5. Quit Creative Cloud Content Manager
  6. Go to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud Experience
  7. Run Creative Cloud Content Manager
  8. Open Photoshop

I checked a couple of different macOS versions with Photoshop 26.11 installed including the newest macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 and i don't see a Runtime folder in 

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

 

If in Photoshop you click on the Home Screen button, is it blank?

The House symbol at left end of the Tool Options bar.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I went ahead and tried moving the Adobe Photoshop 2025 Settings folder out of Preferences to reset everything, but unfortunately the Cloud Documents dialog still shows a blank window.


It seems like the issue might be related to the missing /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/Runtime/ folder on my system. I’m on macOS Monterey 12.7.6, so it’s possible the newer Photoshop runtime just isn’t installing properly on this OS.

I would try a manual reset of the Photoshop preferences by going to

Macintosh HD/Users/UserName/Library/Preferences

and moving the

Adobe Photoshop 2025 Settings folder to your desktop

 

If that works you can move back any settings like your Workspaces.
