color picker not syncing with color window

I attached a video to kind of describe what's happening. When I pick a color, it doesn't show it on the hue cube, just the little square next to it. You can also see in the video that when I click on the hue cube, it shows the color gradient from what I had color picked, but that's not super helpful because it changes the shade and saturation depending on where I clicked. I normally use lab sliders and none of the sliders move when I pick a color anymore, and none of the other color wheels/sliders work either. I did just have an update on photoshop and normally some of my presets and settings get lost or messed up when that happens so I'm assuming this is the root of the issue.
