Help file for color replacement does not define what foreground or target colors are or mean and never says how to select the target color, whatever it is. If target color is the one to be replaced, then where is it set? Also, step 10 is a strange sentence. "Drag within the image to replace in the targeted color." That is also the first time that target color is mentioned in the whole procedure.

Accuracy using the Color Replacement tool is dependent on Mode, Sampling, Limits and Tolerance settings. Also, I did not find a way to adjust the density/opacity or fill of the new color via a secondary layer (above or below the target layer).

william, I can't seem to find color replacement in the Help Ps 2026 file.

When you select the Color Replacment tool (in the brush, mixer brush and pencil), the toolbar will present tools,

Sampling -- Continuous, Once, and Background Swatch;

Mode -- Hue, Saturation, Color, Luminosity;

Limits -- Contiguous, Discontiguous, Find Edges;

Tolerance percentage;

Anti-alias checkbox

You would then ""drag within the image to replace [in] the targeted color."

I was hoping to learn a new skill by trying to help you. Expert help is lurking.... stay tuned...

In the meantime, perhaps this non-Adobe webpage will help:

The Color Replacement Tool In Photoshop

[the article is pretty old:
"This tutorial has been updated for Photoshop CS6 and is also fully compatible with Photoshop CC. If you're using Photoshop CS5 or earlier, you can still follow along here, or you can check out the original Color Replacement Tool tutorial." Surprisingly or not, the tool seems to be the same.

If you want to stick within Adobe.com:

Replace object colors in 3 simple ways

see the section, Use the Color Replacement tool, near the bottom of the page. Only 5 steps; probably not the article to which you refer.

Thanks for the help. The tutorial you reference looks like it is what should happen but on Plotoshop 26-1, it DOES NOT WORK, at lease for me ???
