COLOR TABLE IN INDEXED COLOR MODE - Photoshop 2020 macOS

I often index my patterns in Photoshop and recolor using the color table. However with this new version of photoshop, the process is very very slow. I get the spinning color wheel while it is exchanging the color I chose to replace. I haven't had this problem in previous versions of Photoshop.

Hi

Does it still happen with today's update to 21.0.1?

Hi Jane,

I just saw there is a new update today...I will download and see if it occurs again and let you know. Thank you!

Hi Jane,

I downloaded the new version 21.0.1 and I have the same problem. It changes to the color when I select different on the color table but then spins for a good length of time.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that the new version is showing the spinning color wheel, could you please try deselecting "Use Graphics Processor" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

You may also try the steps to optimize the performance of Photoshop and see how it goes: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Regards,
Sahil

Thank you Sahil but I tried your suggestion and it is still not working. It spins for a very long time and doesn't close the color table window. I will have to go back to Photoshop 2019 where I didn't have this problem.
