Question

Colour difference while saving a PSD file with an intensity layer

Hi everyone,

I am editing a file with a personal colour profile. While I edit it with an intensity layer and save it, if I reopen it, the colour doesn't look the same.

If I do it with a generic RGB profile I don't have this problem. I used to work with photoshop 2019 and I didn't have this problem. Any solution on that? I have this problem both on windows and mac.

Many thanks.

I work in a textile company, this is a colour profile for printing (RGB) on a specific fabric. (I am not an expert in colour profiles and colour management)

When I say "generic" I mean the standard RGB profiles like "sRGB IEC61966-2.1", "Adobe RGB (1998)", etc. I do not have problems with this ones. But as I said I worked in the past with our colour profiles without problems.

What's a "personal" color profile and where does that come from? And what's "generic" RGB?

The one on the left is before saving and closing, the right one is saved and reopened.
