Comprehensive Fix: Solving Performance Lags and Unexpected Crashes in Adobe Apps

Hi everyone,

As someone deeply involved in Cybersecurity and Programming, I’ve analyzed the recurring performance issues many users face with Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.). Many crashes aren't just "bugs," but often stem from system conflicts or optimization gaps.

Here is a technical checklist to fix lags and crashes effectively:

  1. GPU Drivers: Always switch to NVIDIA Studio Drivers instead of Game Ready drivers. They are optimized for stability in Adobe software.
  2. Memory Leaks: Regularly use Edit > Purge > All to clear the cache. This prevents the software from choking on temporary data.
  3. Scratch Disks: Ensure your scratch disk has at least 20% free space. SSDs are mandatory for high performance here.
  4. Antivirus Exclusions: Sometimes security software blocks Adobe's background processes. Adding Adobe folders to the "Exclusion List" can stop random freezes.

I hope this helps stabilize your workflow!

Have you tried these steps before, or are you still experiencing specific error codes? Let's discuss below.

Win 11 Pro; Intel Ultra 9 285K, 64gb ram, Nvidia GeoForce RTX 5070 12gb, 1.66TB avail storage, PS 27.6, NVIDIA studio drivers, all 4 items above have been set but even a small photo never finishes processing with neural filter photo restoration.  No error codes.  Forced to end PS from Task Manager.
