Constant Freezes on Startup – A Long-Time Subscriber’s Frustration

I need to get this off my chest. I’ve been a Creative Cloud subscriber since day one and have never used pirated software. However, the current stability of Adobe Photoshop is unacceptable.

The program constantly freezes or crashes the moment I open it. The only plugin I am running is Pantone Connect. To the Adobe engineers: when will you start prioritizing core stability over new, flashy features? We are professionals who depend on these tools for our livelihood, and right now, the software is hindering my productivity. Has anyone else found a permanent fix for these startup hangs?

Thanks.😫

TBH if you search the forums, Pantone Connect is notoriously unstable. Not saying this is your issue but something to consider. Once you post your System Info from the Help men as @D Fosse mentioned, they can diagnose the issue.

Same. I haven’t seen a crash or freeze in ten years or so. Photoshop is rock solid.

Crashing is nearly always GPU-related. Please post the full Help > System Info from Photoshop.

@Corseuil I have Photoshop version 27.4 running on 2 PC’s and don’t have the issues you described, I will admit that there are some bugs, especially with “Enable Modern User Interface” enabled, there have been quite a few reported issues with that option enabled in the forum.

Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences
