I erased part of text letter to get a different shape (then applied stroke). To do this photshop rastersized the layer so I could erase so the loopy detail I did not want. I am now trying to convert to shape so it can be used for print but I dont have the option to convert to shape like I do with the unaltered text. Is there an easy way to do this? thank you
Not for quality or accuracy, no. A selection can be converted to a path via the paths panel, but that's not likely to help you directly even if you were happy with the accuracy or quality.
An image or screenshot would help.
Although Photoshop has added various vector capabilities over the years, vector manipulation is still best done in Illustrator.
Ideally the shape would be edited with vector tools such as pathfinder rather than being converted to raster.
