Question

'Couldn't load action because unexpected end-of-file error occured' ?

Hi

I'm trying to load some of my actions but a good portion of them have been missing for a good while, and now I've just decided to get into solving this issue. Turns out whenever I try to load them - I still have the action files of course - I get the typical ' unexpected end of file error'. I remember this happened completely randomly back in the end of December. What is that supposed to mean and how am I supposed to fix it and make my actions load again ? I did the correct backup of all my photoshop actions periodically on a regular basis just to avoid situations like this one and suddenly most of them are unusable ?

Best regards

Kay Frank

"unexpected end of file" is a corrupt file. That's just one of the forms corruption can take.

But getting that on a simple .atn file is extremely unlikely. This is something that happens to image files. So are you sure it was the actions file that was the problem, and not the image file itself?

Entirely sure, as the photos I keep working on without an issue and it never happened to me, but a good number of actions just randomly disappeared from my 'Actions' menu and whenever I tried loading them back I had this 'end of life unexpected error'. I did manage to manualy install them from their default directories in my archive, and they added normally this time. Strange malfuction but I guess sh*t happens, glad it wasn't much of a fuss to fix it manually in the end. Thank you for getting back to me, however !

It doesn't matter anymore, thankfully I managed to find the actions in my archives and load them anew. For some reason, however, those were lost in the first place and that's very concerninig, but I suppose its the standard random issues with software.
