Hi @practical_parent0D4C, thank you for sharing the additional screenshot and details.

What you’re seeing is expected. The ruler tick marks adjust dynamically depending on the zoom level and image size. At certain zoom percentages, Photoshop simplifies the notches to avoid overcrowding. That’s why the ruler divisions may appear less frequent than the toolbar icons beside them.

162.5% zoom

5000% zoom

Here are a few things you can try:
 • Zoom in/out on your image. You’ll notice the ruler scale and notches update in real time.
 • If rulers still appear too faint, check your UI scaling in Edit > Preferences > Interface. Increasing UI scaling or changing ruler units often improves visibility.

I hope this clarifies!

Best,

Hi @practical_parent0D4C

I’m not entirely sure where the issue lies. In the meantime, please check out these resources on how rulers work in Photoshop:

If this doesn’t resolve your problem, could you share a bit more detail—such as a full screenshot and an example of how you’d like the ruler to appear? That will help us guide you better.

Regards,

Srishti

Courtoisement
