Crashes every time the PC is restarted

I am a new user of PS 2025. Every time I start up my PC and open PS, it crashes, so I close PS 2025. When I reopen PS 2025, it works fine. Does this sound familiar? And is there a possible cause? In any case, I know that my internet connection is max. 65MB and unfortunately I can't change that.

Hello Aleke,

Thank you for your response. I have identified the issue. The failure to
start up is caused by my security software. When the PC starts up, a number
of processes run in the background that prevent PS from starting up. If I
wait a little longer before starting up PS, everything works as it should.
For your information, the security software is a paid version of AVG that
includes Internet security and privacy protection.

I hope this helps.

Hi @hub_0913, welcome to the community!
When you open Photoshop, can you tell us exactly when it crashes? Does it happen at the homepage, the splash screen, or does the app not open at all? If you're seeing an error dialog, a screenshot would be super helpful.
Also, could you share your System Info with us? You can find it in Photoshop under Help > System Info. Just copy it into a text file and attach it to your reply, or share it via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any file-sharing service you prefer.
Thanks a lot!
Alek

Hi @hub_0913,

That’s a great catch. Thank you for sharing your follow-up! What you’re describing makes perfect sense. Security suites like AVG Internet Security can momentarily block Photoshop’s background services (such as the licensing or sync components) from initializing when Windows first boots. That’s why the first launch right after startup crashes, but launching Photoshop later works fine once AVG’s processes have finished loading.

To prevent this from happening in the future, you can:
 • Add Photoshop and Creative Cloud or Adobe background processes to AVG’s exception list, especially:
 • Photoshop.exe
 • AdobeIPCBroker.exe
 • CCXProcess.exe
 • Creative Cloud.exe
 • Delay launching Photoshop for a minute or two after startup.

Your internet speed (65 Mbps) wouldn’t cause this crash, so you’re in the clear there.

Thanks again for confirming the cause. Your note will definitely help others who have the same issue.

Best,
