Creating Action to Save With Same File Name

Currently running Photoshop 26.2.0 on Win11.

Several years ago I created an Action to modify a dng file & then save it as a jpg in another folder. I recently upgraded my computer & the folder structure has been changed, so the Save command in the Action needs to be modified. Unfortunately, I can no longer recall how to recreate the Save command in the Action. The attachment contains the Save command (outlined in red) that I wish to replicate so that I can revise the path to the desired folder. Note that the path does not include any filename because the intent is to retain the name of the source dng file when saving it as a jpg.

I tried the "Record Again…" & "Insert Menu Item…" options in the Actions menu. These were not successful because they required that a specific filename be inserted before proceeding to record the Save step.

Any guidance would be gratefully appreciated.

Try re-recording by selecting File > Save As or Save a Copy, or remove the Save step and create a new step using the specified commands.

By the way, please do not alter the File Name field when saving during step recording.

I have the same problem. It works fine in 2024 but the new 2025 keeps overwriting the last image with the same file name. I have tried deleting the whole action and re recording it, I have tried taking out save and re adding it, it just doesn't work.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
