Creating Dicom volumes - white image only [2019]

I am trying to create 3D volumes from CT images. I have followed the instructions found on this site, and watched several videos, and all show the same process. When going to create the volume, all I get is a large white image that fills the viewing area. I know the data sets are valid because I can load them in external programs just fine. Any ideas on what is going wrong? Thanks.

Hi

3D volume in CC2019 is broken. If you still have CC2018 installed then that works. You can install CC2018 alongside the CC2019 version from the CC desktop application.

Yes it is still broken in the current version. 😞

That said - when faced with a white screen, I found changing the volumetric style from normal to another and then back again did restore the image preview temporarily but then after a few moves it froze.

I was hopeful that the change to PBR materials might signal a new interest from Adobe in fixing the 3D issues that have gradually crept in over recent versions. However, so far, it seems not.

Did this ever get fixed? 2025 and I still see a white screen when trying to open a DICOM file?

Is this still broken in CC2020? Unfortunately, I don't have 2018 and I can't get the 3D volume to work. It get a mess of a mesh.

Thank you. I tried it in CC2018 and it mostly worked as expected. However, solid shaded volume didn't work, but the other 4 options on the list did. I will gladly add to your error log. Thank you.

Without any actual info about the DICOMs and your system that's impossible to say. Could simply be inadequate 3D hardware that can't handle the transparencies correctly, could be something with the DICOMs themselves like the levels not having been calibrated to be within reasonable limits.
