I have CS5.  I recently upgraded my 5D Mark II to a 5D Mark III.  I also have a 6D.  I can't open my images in RAW.  Am I forced to purchase CS6?

Hi,

You should be able to open the Canon 5D Mark III files into photoshop cs5 by updating to camera raw 6.7

(Help>Updates from within photoshop cs5)

For the Canon 6D,  the 8.1 DNG converter should work by converting your 6D camera raw files to dng

copies which should then open in photoshop cs5.

Well, you are not "forced" and can use the free DNG converter, but naturally you may want to upgrade, regardless, to streamline your work. It's in the nature of the thing - as new cameras arrive, only newer versions of PS can provide compatibility with their Raw data.

I understand that I am not forced to a word of frustration. I have a lot

of plug-ins for CS5 and I don't want to lose them. Can you tell me where to

find the DNG converter? I have googled this for many hours! Thank you so

much for your help.
