Question

CS6 was told to deactivate by support now doesn't work and solution was to buy new!

I've had CS6 that I mainly use to edit videos and some photos. I bought it in 2012. Well computers come and go and my latest computer died and I tried to reinstall and couldn't. When I contacted help they said I maxed out the computers (2). Ok Well I barely use my laptop photoshop only to view radiology files that won't open so I "deactivated" like support stated. Then they told me the activation servers were retired and there was nothing they could do and tried to sell me the new Adobe products.

Support literally told me to deactivate my products, and now I cannot use them. When I complained they offered to sell me new products.

This seems VERY unethical. Any thoughts?

@dustin_1885 I know for a fact two of my former colleagues still use CS6 on their Macs, one is a early 2013 MacBook Air, and the other colleague is using an iMac which also has CS6 on it. Two different people. Two different CS6.

Awesome reporting by @Ged_Traynor though! Nailed it on the head!

@dustin_1885 activation servers for CS6 have not been retired, so the person was wrong to inform you of that

In addition to Ged's correct response, see the links in this post from Jeffrey_A_Wright:

Adobe does not reset activations, so you need to deactivate before activating on another computer.
