cut and past from one frame of video layer to the next

I created a blank video layer, then I drew an image in the first frame.  I would like to copy this first frame and then paste it into the next frame, into exactly the same spot.  But when i copy and paste, the image pastes at a different space in the new frame.  How do i get it to exactly duplicate the frame before?

I thought pasting into place is the default. Anyway, I have a few ideas that you can try:

    • Instead of the typical copy/paste, try copy and then Edit > Paste Special > Paste in Place (Shift + Option + V)
    • Instead of copy/paste, what happens when you drag your layer in the Layers Panel down to the "Create a New Layer" icon?

If neither of these help, a screenshot, like Peru Bob said, would help more so that we can better understand.

I saw this was moved to the photoshop forum, but I found it here so might as well answer.

In order to paste into a frame on a video layer, that frame must be empty. If you try to copy drawings from a frame to another that already has been drawn into, this action will automatically generate a new normal layer right on that frame; but if you copy and paste into a frame that has nothing drawn on it, it will work just fine (either normal paste or paste in place).

Just make sure to select the whole layer (Ctrl/Cmnd+A) and erase the content of the frame before trying to paste anything on it.

    Hope that helps!

hello. is it possible to add an empty frame between two existing frames in a video layer?

Can you show screen captures and/or a video?

FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?

I'm not sure I understand your question.
