Question

Detecting Photo

Hi, I just wanted to ask if in the generate fill (AI), despite the part you select does AI detect the full photo?  Like for an example, if I take a photo of a backyard and in the yard there's a dog and even if only select part of the grass, can it detect that there's a dog in the photo?  Not sure if I'm explaining well.

Thanks

I suspect the original poster might have been wondering about the extent of the image beyond the Selection’s bounds is transferred over the web.

• This could be significant in case of big images and limited bandwidth.

• If the concern is customer confidentiality I think this should be a non-issue – if I remember correctly Adobe/Firefly does not permanently store the image data after processing.

As a user, I can confirm the above statement. In fact, I cannot imagine this amazing functionality working any other way. This morning, I successfully removed wrinkles from one part of a tracksuit photo using GenAi fill. It is fully aware of texture and color; otherwise, it wouldn't work.

Hey, @Jonathan5E0F. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll clarify this for you.

Like other GenAI tools, generative fill is contextually aware of your image, so the results you generate blend with your image.

Thanks!
