Question

Display frustration

It seems that whenever I launch Photoshop my display automatically increases in brightness and intensity. This tends to affect the outcome of my prints, often causing them to print darker than they should. When I close Photoshop, the brightness usually goes back to what I consider to be normal. However, I frequently have to manually adjust the monitor and drop the brightness from 100%. Is there a way to prevent Photoshop from increasing the brightness when launching? I'm using an HP all-in-one and Windows 11. That probably isn't the best combination but it is what I have.

You need to look at the laptop settings and the graphics settings/GPU driver.

Photoshop has no way to control display brightness.

Many laptops have "helpful" functions to vary display brightness according to actual screen content, and this may not work as intended with an application that uses so many advanced GPU functions as Photoshop.
