Dissapointment with the state of Adobe Apps

As a paying customer I have to voice my dissapointment with the state of Adobe apps and improvements year after year. I am looking at my Activity Monitor and can't believe Photoshop takes up 4,5GB of Memory without any open files? I feel everything is being dumped into mediocre AI development while the usability of Apps keeps dropping.

When you cold start Photoshop, it should take up about 1.5 - 2 GB memory. This has been the normal for as long as I can remember:

But it depends on much it has to load. If you have a lot of brushes, fonts, patterns, gradients, presets, etc, it will be much higher.

But more to the point, 4 GB memory is just the beginning. The instant you start opening images, it will grow very quickly beyond that, up to the limit you have set in Preferences. This is how it's supposed to work, and by design this memory will not be released when you close the files, it will be reused and recycled. Memory is released when you close the application.

In short, this is not a problem. If you do have problems, this is not the reason.

I disagree that it's not a problem. It’s bloated software and no effort is being put into optimising it. Not just Photoshop, all the rest of them. And we as users just have to keep buying more and more memory to keep up. There's also things that can be improved with UX and UI that I'm already used to being inefficient.

Anyway the section says Discussions not Problems.

Photoshop is professional grade software and like all professional tools, it is optimized for speed, efficiency and heavy-to-extreme workloads. It is not optimized for limited hardware resources, then it would be a completely different and more functionally limited software.
