Question

Does Photoshop for iPad Support RAW files from Sony A7IV (ILCE-7M4)?

Hi all,

As stated in the title, I'm wondering if Photoshop for iPad supports ILCE-7M4 RAW files? I'm getting an error when trying to open one saying that the file-format module couldn't parse the file. I can open RAW files from my Sony A7R3 camera, however, just fine.

In Lightroom for iPad, I am able to open the RAW image files just fine; I can even send it to Photoshop from there, but it does not open up in Camera RAW from Photoshop–it just opens as a normal image layer.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

David

Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. What version of Photoshop & iOS are you working on? Is this an Apple silicon-based iPad?

Please send a bunch of sample images by uploading them to Creative Cloud files (https://assets.adobe.com/files) and share them with us. Include a screen recording & screenshots if possible.

Thanks!

Hi Sameer,

When I try to upload files to that link, it throws an error saying the file type is not supported. Under the synced files tab, however, it converts the RAW file to JPG when uploading.

I've attached screenshots to my reply here instead. You can see my Photoshop and iPadOS versions. Latest iPad Pro M2. If you still need a copy of the .ARW file(s), you'll have to let me know how to get them to you in a secure manner.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for these details. I'll share these forward. In the meantime, try to zip several sample files in a compressed folder & try to sync that to Creative Cloud files & share the link here or DM me directly from my profile.

Thanks!
