The dotted lines of the marquee rectangle that appear just before I crop - can these lines be thickened or made bolder and easier to see?

If it is a matter of being able to see what is selected, what I do is hit the Q key to go into Quickmask. That will usually reveal any areas that have been missed. With a busy subject like below

Quickmask makes it much easier to see any issues with the selection

His name is Steve Lange. He is mid fifties and still winning motocross events. It's 45 years since I sat on a motocross bike, and it was called scrambles back then. The nearest I can come to a picture is at 1:28 in this video arriving for an event in my red Cortina. We think this was 1970 give or take a couple of years.
