Question

editing type layer’s text in a separate editor window

G’day!

I have a vague memory of having seen a video/tutorial about Photoshop (or possibly some other Adobe application) in which text was edited in a separate text editor window.

Does anybody recall whether such an option does exist in Photoshop by default and, if so, what the shorcut to raise the editor is?

One of Photoshop's few shortcomings is editing type. Arcane controls, sometimes the cursor is hard to see (you can offer suggestions to cure this!).

I just tried to create formatted text in Pages, then paste into a text box in Ps v26.4.1. Bold, Italic, and font size were lost.

Do need to use a desktop publisher or does a working WP plug-in exist?

(Pfaffenbichler : not trying to hijack, just tailing on for gins and griggles)

You may be thinking of ancient versions of Photoshop. Editable type was added in Photoshop 5.0. Before that it was added in a dialog and rasterized when applied.
