Enable Crop Shield option is greyed out in Photoshop.

Do you happen to have the beta version of PS installed as well as your standard 24.7 version number?

Mine works fine with the same Mac computer model but I am on Ventura, not Monterey, not sure that makes a difference.

What happens if you create a blank image - can you apply the crop sheild to that document?

Its not a sudden issue someone in this community was writing about it in 2022, I have observed it for a while, just had no time to find out. I am curious if your Photoshop does it as well?

Can you show the layers panel?

I also tried it on my wife's computer and it has the same problem. If you open Photoshop and make sure its enabled, then you open an image and turn it off close the image, and open another image I believe it will be greyed out on your Photoshop as well.

@Jiri Makovec can you share the entire workspace with the crop tool enabled? Something else must be preventing you from choosing the crop sheild in the document itself.

Hi @Jiri Makovec Go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

Also check your help menu/GPU Compatibility. Crop Sheild is one of those GPU related features. If your GPU is failing, it wont work.

oh sorry I forgot to write the version of my Photoshop, its latest update 24.7.0 

Adobe technician wiped my creative cloud and reinstalled it 😉
