Eraser tool leaving outline mark

can someone please help me with this, I can figure out why the eraser tool is leaving this outline behind after I use it.

Did you see this post which seems similar in what it's doing for a different tool:

BTW, nice photo! But with that gray outline it looks like the critters inside the shells tried to make a run for it .... 😉
