I use an iMac and just update the OS to Sequoia 15.6.1 and I have the latest update version of Photoshop

Photoshop cannot load image files. I get the error message: "Unable to complete your request because file cannot be found" for any file.
I can upload the files in Preview and Photos.

HELP!!!

Correct answer JulieHF

"My images are on pCloud, a cloud app."

A very important piece of info!Probably why files cannot be found.

If you're trying to open file directly into Ps, try downloading them to your pCloud Drive on your iMac, then see if you can open them in Ps.

[I'm not suggesting you abandon pCloud, just testing a theory]

Have you been able to open files in Ps before this post?

Are you offline?

from the FAQ:

15. Can I use my files offline?

Yes, you can use your files offline, when you have no internet connection available. In order to make files available offline, follow these steps:

pCloud for Android/iOS

  1. Android: Open the app, locate the file and tap the more options menu (three vertical dots) and tap "Make available offline"
  2. iOS: Open the app, long-press a file and tap 'Make available offline'.

pCloud Drive:

  1. Open your pCloud Drive file directory
  2. Select the folder you want to access offline and right-click
  3. Click "Offline Access (sync)"
  4. Choose a local folder and click "Add sync"

I woke up this morning having left my iMac on overnight after I got another message saying PS was still downloading after I opened it after updating it.

This morning everything is working fine. All files are uploading to PS from internal, external hard drives, and from pCloud. Even did a big photomerge on six images.

Thanks for all your help and support.

Julie, are your photos on the main drive, that is, not on a removable/portable drive?

Can you use Finder to look for your camera's files?

Yes, I can view my images through Finder.
My images are on pCloud, a cloud app.
