Error messages when trying to use filter Render: Picture Frame

When I try to use the filter Render: Picture Frame, I get two sequential error messages:

Error - Graphics Initialization Error - Failed to locate preferred Metal Device

then, after closing that:

Error -29 Uncaught Exception

Line: 6104

->    Engine.render (api)

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB

Any help would be appreciated. Adobe should not rely so much on a community board to find solutions for its problems. There seem to be lots of issues with this latest Photoshop update.

Any update on this as I just updated from PS 2019 to 20202 latest version and this has happened (I'm using fill >seamless pattern with script function)

I had the same problem. It also occurs when trying to use filter Render > Trees. I also could not use the Rotate view tool and probably many other functions as well. PS does not see my graphics card. Check in Preferences > Performance if your PS sees the card. It should be listed on Detected graphics Processor.

I have Windows 7.

When I went back to version 21.1.2 the problem went away.

There are issues with this release on old and not so old GPU's, I've posted about on the feedback forum
