Error with content aware crop then photoshop crashes

when I crop an image using content aware fill it comes up with an error and crashes photoshop

Yes Generative expand works but that uses up my credits which is a waste for background extensions

I have only tried unticking the Use Graphics Processor to see if that made a difference but it didnt

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:
