expanded canvas problem

Greetings!

I recently expanded an image's canvas on top and on the left side with AI Generative Expand.

However, no matter what I tried, I could not add an additional subject to the expanded areas (a cloud). Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I am using PS 25.6.0 and Windows 11. I have not yet upgraded PS to the most recent version.

Thank you, Photodoc16

Ladies and Gentlemen,  My current answer to this problem with expanded areas is to expand canvas using the older method of using a 9 space grid where you can anchor one side and expand others as you need. I had no problems changing or adding anything to the expanded areas.    Thank you all.

I wonder if it might work better to expand the canvas first without the use of AI.

Image ⇒ Canvas Size (Ctrl + Alt + C).

And then create a new layer on top with Ctrl + J for AI to fill.

Nancy,
I really don't think that would work since you are still using AI to fill
on top of another expanded canvas. If you have success send me a note.
Thanks,

I'm a bit out of touch with generative fill, but earlier, it didn't work well with large areas/files. Maybe try doing one side at a time.

Generative anything results with what being created is put onto it's own layer.   You prolly just have the wrong layer selected.  You are adding clouds, but not on a layer you can see.

I'm wondering if you would get a different result with this script, using generative fill instead of generative expansion:
