Question

export size issues just started happening in November 2025

While I'm working with a very large file 2.97G, photoshop will not allow me to export this at the size I need it to be and is giving an error message saying "the image dimensions cannot scale exactly as entered and has been rounded.  For an exact size please use Canvas Size or scale the layer or layer effects in the document".

The size I'm setting is 48 x 66.37.".  Even if I change the 66.37 to 66" it is still producing this error.  I really feel this just started happening.

Can someone please help me!

I'm using Photoshop 2025, on a MAC OS Sequoia 15.5

The maximum file size to save a Photoshop document (PSD) is 2 GB. For larger projects use PSB.

Are you sure you need a file size this big – can you explain what kind of job you're working on?

Hi @Ryan3073071106ts,

Thanks for reporting this. To help us narrow down what’s happening with the export scaling issue, could you share a few more details?

– Does this happen with this specific 2.97GB file, or do you see the same behavior with other large documents as well?
– Where is the file stored? (local internal drive, external SSD, network volume, cloud-synced folder, etc.)
– Where exactly are you exporting to? (same drive, external drive, network location)
– If possible, could you attach a screenshot of the full error dialog?
– And if you are comfortable, please DM me a download link to the PSD/PSB file so we can try to reproduce the issue internally.

Once I can reproduce it on my side, I’ll escalate it to the product team for deeper investigation.
