Question

Eyedropper Issue

Platform: Mac, Monterey 12.3.1

Photoshop version: 23.5.0

After installing the most recent bug fix update, new issues have cropped up. Most notably with the Eyedropper tool.

Here are my actions:

- Select Eydropper tool

- Point selection option selected

- All layers option selected

- Click a color

- Only the very base layer color seems to be sampled instead of the color I am clicking on

See attached video.

Thank you for the video @kd360, very helpful to be able to see what you are seeing.

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thank you,

Working for me using your steps on a multilayer doc.

Try resetting your preferences and let us know if that helped.

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences upon a quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.
